All welcome and there's a free drink for every performer - they sell the blessed Deuchar's IPA and the legendary Greene King Abbott Ale (for them as can take this powerful nectar) at everyday prices and there are drinks promos!

MARCH

POSTPONED because the pub's refurbishment programme has been brought forward. We'll have news about re-scheduling sometime in April. Sorry!

FEBRUARY

11TH - Saturday - 9.00 pm Free
NOBLE'S

44a Constitution Street, Leith, Edinburgh 0131-554 2024

A great night with a plentiful (and plenty fu') audience! Great fun and nice to see the lovely Lindsay - Leith FM DJ and part-time ale-purveyor - again. I have to single out Stevie who was an absolute powerhouse on the drums - all that on a pint of shandy! Our good friend Ewan Spence of Leith FM and The Podcast Network Rock Show has recorded this one for inclusion on his programme. Be interesting to hear how it turns out! I'll maybe put some of it up on the website. We'll let you know when it's broad/pod cast so you can check it out!

JANUARY

28TH - Saturday - 9.00 pm Free
NOBLE'S

44a Constitution Street, Leith, Edinburgh 0131-554 2024

Excellent night from the playing point of view and a first-class début by our new bassman Bob Leiser! It was Alex's birthday so we gave him his dumps (non-Scottish readers - "dumps" is a savage playground custom in which the victim is thumped on the back once for every year of his/her age. Alex will be out of hospital soon!) The audience were a tad subdued though - apparently local football heroes Hibernian had been humped by their long-term local rivals Heart of Midlothian. This produced an intense local depression which only gave way to sunny skies after the consumption of several pints of ale (Noble's serves Deuchar's IPA - the drink of the gods)!

13TH - Friday - 9.00 pm Free
NOBLE'S

44a Constitution Street, Leith, Edinburgh 0131-554 2024

We're in a state of transition at the moment as Mike has had to leave because of other commitments (Good luck, Mike and all the best for the future!). We did this gig with the emergency assistance of Jack Easy bass player Andy Bremner who did such a good job the crowd were raving about us! Thanks a million, Andy! Happily, we're pretty sure we have a permanent replacement in the pipe-line - we'll let him out of the pipe-line for our next gig!

2005

DECEMBER

8TH - Thursday
- 9.00 pm Free
THE CLUTHA VAULTS

167-169 Stockwell St G1 4SP
Information: 0141 552 7520

We thought this was probably the best gig we've played. So did those of our regular audience who made the effort to turn up. Where was everybody else?!?! A quiet night in the Clutha but definitely a performance we can be proud of.

NOVEMBER

26TH - Saturday
- 4.00 pm Free
THE SCOTIA BAR

112 Stockwell Street Glasgow Lanarkshire G1 4LW
Information: 0141 552 8681

Another hot'n'sweaty afternoon for The Outfit complicated by a latish start occasioned by the exhaust falling off the van! Nevertheless, once we got underway, audience reaction was warm ("The Devil Ain't A Friend Of Mine" seems to be shaping up as a possible single judging by audience approval ratings). The first half was a roaring success and the 2nd half went well too (although the late start meant that reaction was a little more muted as people drifted off for their dinner). New drummer, Stevie Anderson, is now well settled-in and driving the band like nobody's business. Hope to see everyone on Thursday across the road in the Clutha!

5TH - Saturday - 9.00 pm Free
NOBLE'S

44a Constitution Street, Leith, Edinburgh 0131-554 2024

First gig at well-known Edinburgh hostelry and a good one it was! Managing to avoid setting off the dreaded noise meter by the skin of our teeth, we played a stormer with our new man on percussion, Stevie Anderson, having his best night yet with us! The enthusiastic crowd applauded mightily and took to the dance floor in significant numbers (I forget which numbers were most significant but "Who Do You Love" seemed to get them moving)! The kindly management have promised us a return gig asap. Watch this space!!!

OCTOBER

29TH - Saturday - 10.00 pm
THE OAKBANK HOTEL

Sandbank, by Dunoon
Hallowe'en at the hotel. A bit of a marathon - 10 - 2 then they put the clocks back!!! We played a stormer - though we really had to dig up the back catalogue to fill the time. Congratulations are due to our new drummer, Stevie Anderson, who stepped in magnificently at the last minute after Phil's work commitments forced him to withdraw from the band. Best of luck for the future to Phil, and welcome aboard Stevie!

8TH - Saturday - 4.00 pm Free
JOKERS
15 Gilmour Street, Paisley
Information: 0141 889 2089

A brilliant gig!!!! Lots of applause and cries for more at the end as we really rocked it up! Return gig sometime in the New Year.

4TH - Tuesday - 8.00 pm £4
STEREO

11-13 Kelvinhaugh Street Glasgow, G3 8NU
Information: 0141 576 5018.

A real musicians' evening with Sandstone and Attic Lights - www.atticlights.co.uk - the Attic Ls were like a reincarnation of the Beach Boys, lovely harmonies, while Sandstone did an excellent funky rock set - top-notch playing too. We went down really well and got lots of names for our mailing list!

SEPTEMBER

22ND - Thursday
- 9.00 pm Free
THE CLUTHA VAULTS

167-169 Stockwell St G1 4SP
Information: 0141 552 7520

TPN ROCK
26th March 2006 Our very good friend Ewan Spence recorded us live at Noble's and he's just taken time off from his wanderings in the US of A to put up half-a-dozen original tracks on a special TPN Rock Session. This gig was only the 2nd we'd played with our present line-up so it's a touch rough'n'ready but it's rock and it's live. What more do you want?!?

Ed's Mixed Bag
8th March Ed Ovett from Florida hosts this very eclectic show at www.edsmixedbag.com. Ed very kindly played our "Adios To Rock'nRoll" on his show #22. Check it out!

Leith FM
9th February We bumped into Lindsay Allen from Leith FM at Noble's and it turns out she too had played our album on her community programme over the Festive Season. It was a pleasure to renew acquaintance with Lindsay - we'd met her at a songwriters' contest in The Royal Oak a few months ago and given her a CD. She has a nice line in off-the-wall humour and I heartily commend her radio programme to you! With Lindsay, Tom and Ewan of Leith FM all plugging us, surely a top ten Leith hit is on the cards!!!!

Portobello On Line/Leith FM
17th January Tom Fahey from podcast Portobello On Line www.last.fm/user/AmericanaUK and local radio station Leith FM, 87.7FM, http://www.leithfm.co.uk/ played all of the Outfit's album "Little Stories From The Mine" over the festive season. He's also put it on his long-term playlist for the "AmericanaUK" programme. Thanks, Tom! - He's obviously a man of taste. If he's a man of wealth and taste, well, we could use a manager!

the tartanpodcast
8th October Mark Hunter of the much-famed tartanpodcast - www.tartanpodcast.com - has featured "No Strings And No Regrets" as the T.P.'s contribution to the 3rd edition of the Podshow Music Rewind - www.podshowmusicrewind.com - a kind of "podcast of podcasts" where podcasters from all over the world submit some of their favourite tracks. Thanks Mark!
